From Madison, Wisconsin,
Chicago’s northwest suburbs or O’Hare Airport: Guests driving from Madison, Wisconsin, the northwest suburbs, and O’Hare, which feed into 90 East, will follow that highway into downtown Chicago. Take the Ohio Street exit. Ohio Street is one-way heading east. Guests will follow Ohio Street to Michigan Avenue, which is approximately one and a quarter miles. Then turn right, South on Michigan and proceed one block. Turn left at the next corner (Illinois Street) and proceed East on Illinois one block to the traffic circle where you can turn around to come back to Michigan Avenue and take a right. The doorman and valet parkers will be on Michigan Avenue to assist you. 2. From Chicago’s western suburbs or using Highway 290 East, The Eisenhower: Guests who will be utilizing Highway 290 East need only continue on that route into downtown Chicago, at which point 290 becomes Congress Parkway. Follow Congress approximately one and a half miles to Michigan Avenue. Turn left on Michigan Avenue and proceed one mile to the bridge over the Chicago River. After crossing the bridge, the hotel will be the third building on the right hand side. The doorman and valet parkers will be on Michigan Avenue to assist you. 3. From Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, or following Highway 57 into the city: Guests arriving from Ohio and Michigan on 80 / 94, Indiana on 90 East which follows 65N, or southern Illinois on highway 57 should follow all signs to 90 / 94 West. Each of the highways are clearly marked at the merger points. Once on 90 / 94 West, guests will proceed in to the downtown area and the Monroe Street exit. Monroe Street is one way going east and should be followed approximately one and a half miles to Michigan Avenue. Guests must then turn left on to Michigan and proceed half a mile to the bridge of the Chicago River. Guests will cross the bridge and find the hotel located three buildings down on the right hand side. Valet parkers and doormen will be on Michigan Avenue to assist with luggage and parking. 4. Stevenson Expressway from Midway, the southwest suburbs of Chicago, or taking Lake Shore Drive North: Guests travelling east on I-55 will merge with Lake Shore Drive North, approximately three miles from the downtown area. When arriving on Lake Shore Drive North, guests will pass Soldier’s Field, the Shedd Aquarium, and Field Museum. Shortly thereafter, exits will appear on the left hand side. Guests should take the third exit, Monroe Street, and follow it two blocks to Michigan Avenue. Turn right on Michigan, then proceed half a mile and cross the bridge of the Chicago River. The hotel will be the third building after the bridge on the right hand side. Guests will pull up in front of the hotel on Michigan Avenue, where doormen and valet parkers are located. 5. Taking Lake Shore Drive south from Chicago’s North Shore: Guests driving south on Lake Shore Drive should exit at Grand Avenue. Follow Grand, which is one way heading west, three blocks to Columbus Drive. Turn left on Columbus, which is south, and proceed two blocks to the NBC Tower, located on the right hand side of the street. Take a right turn into the NBC driveway and follow it all the way to Michigan Avenue. Turn right on Michigan and you will be directly in front of the hotel. Doormen and valet parkers will be on Michigan to assist you. 6. Shuttle Service from Midway or O’Hare Airports: Continental Air Express services both Chicago airports. Their desks are located in the luggage claim area of each terminal next to the car rental agencies or in Midway’s case, the main terminal next to Southwest Airline’s baggage claim area. This service costs approximately half the price of a taxi cab per person. Vans will leave the airport every 15 minutes and deliver guests to the Michigan Avenue entrance of the hotel. |
