The Hotel del Coronado, a
National Historic Landmark, completed a $55 million restoration in June
2001. The dramatic enhancements include oceanfront dining venues and
luxuriously redesigned and air-conditioned Victorian rooms. Adjoining the
beachside façade of the historic Victorian Building, the Windsor Lawn
stretches seaward, re-establishing The Del's connection to the Pacific. |

non-smoking. Towers and Cabanas: The contemporary design of the Towers and Cabanas rooms reflects the oceanfront setting, using tranquil water-themed colors and fabrics. Beach House: With 2,000 square feet, the Beach House has a spacious living room with fireplace; a dining area (with wet bar) that seats eight; and two bedrooms, each with its own bath. French doors connect the living room to a sun-splashed deck. If that's not enticing enough, just get lost in the romance of knowing Marilyn Monroe stayed there while filming Some Like It Hot. Guests staying in the Beach House will enjoy all the privileges of a secluded vacation home with all the services and amenities of a legendary resort. Cottage Suites: The interiors of the eight cottages were designed with a seaside palate and decorated with overstuffed chairs and bedding. Two of the cottages connect to a large living room with a fireplace, dining room table, wet bar and French doors opening onto a sun-splashed deck overlooking the Pacific. |
